The road to gender equality remains long and ever-shifting—particularly when it comes to the nuanced ways gender intersects with race, class, and sexuality. But today’s influential female voices give us hope that we’re headed in the right direction. As we celebrate our milestone , over a quarter of a million views on BCR’S digital magazine , we took a turn to speak to a few women who are a part of Mrs Soweto Peagant. She is phenomenal women and her name is Kefilwe Luczinski, mother of two handsome boys and a German makoti.
‘I consider myself to be driven because I’m always working toward a new goal and refuse to give up if met with any obstacles. I chose communicative because I greatly enjoy collaborative work and would love the opportunity to learn from others if given this position. Finally, I picked reliable because I stick to my commitments. If I volunteer to do something, you can guarantee that i will keep my word or commitment’. She said.
She also speaks to us beyond her career and boldly about her son who was diagnosed with dyslexia ‘I started gaining for interest on dyslexia when my son was diagnosed with a learning disability after sometime of struggling and not knowing what the problem was’.
‘I have then decided to research more and joined organization that had members that were affected by the similar learning disability. ‘I did courses to learn more and understanding the disability 2021’.
‘I then decided to register an NPC that will be focusing on educating and creating awareness about learning disabilities that kids might be facing at school’.
‘I see a lot of people complaining about kids not able to read or write in grade 4 but there’s no one coming up with a solution that might help the kids from their challenges’.
‘They might needs to be assessed to gather information whether there is any discording information problem that they are facing’. She ponders .
What inspired her to start the dyslexia campaign is seeing the gap in the community of knowledge and information not being provided to the community regards this disorder.
‘My son of course inspired me as well because he is an amazing boy that is so creative and he is pasionate about technic and i realized how special this learning disability gift is’. She added.
‘The Government could assist by paying attention and recognizing that there is a need to assist the kids with dyslexia and their families’. She said.
‘Funding can assist me to be able to run my campaign or advocacy for example before you can identify this disorder the teachers have to be taught how to handle kids with dyslexia and the kids have to be screened before even getting diagnosed’. She added.
It’s understood Kefilwe is one of 21 beautiful finalist in the Mrs soweto empowerment program. She is a women who believes in empowering others, sharing with those in need and believes that together is better than when alone!
‘I will be using this platform to be the voice to the voiceless that are currently living with dyslexia some are aware but most in our communities have no knowledge that they are affected. ‘I’m working together with one of the ladies and i am happy to have met such a beautiful selfless women’.
‘We have a number of drives that we are working on and she introduced me to Dora Ark. I am honored to have meet such phenomenal family at Dora Ark they welcomed us with warm arms’. She giggles.

In her conclusion she says ‘Mrs Soweto celebrate strong, commited women who are willing to represent their community at large as a Mrs soweto ambassador. Becoming a role model of today while strengthening our community for tomorrow.
