A Gutzy and a strong woman loves, forgives, walks away, lets go, tries again, perseveres… no matter what life hands her she makes a lemonade out of lemons.

Fikile Mdiniso was crowed Mrs Universe Africa 2021 on the 24th September 2021 at The Menlyn Barnyard Theatre in Pretoria.
There were 20 finalists selected to compete for the crown amongst 70 semifinalists. Fikile mentions the journey came with a lot of self-discovery and growth. She adds that it has challenged her to step outside of her comfort zone and look outside of herself to find how she can be of purpose to others.

She says Mrs Universe Africa has helped her find a sisterhood, change the narrative and live by the notion of beauty with purpose. She encourages women that it is never too late to dream again and try again and to fetch their lives and fetch their dreams.
“Anyone that wishes to enter the competition must be a woman who lives and owns their story and truth even when others don’t agree.  She musiiit have the courage to break the glass ceiling and change the narrative”; says Fikile.

“Winning Mrs Universe Africa means I am a role model to an African girl and an example to African women that it is possible. The world will see what an Essence of an African Woman is through me and my journey of reign. The title is bigger than me as an individual and it will give me an opportunity to change the narrative by educating that beauty can be intellectual, intelligent, purposeful and make an impact in society.
“I aim to build a culture amongst women of a sisterhood and living with beauty and purpose;” said Fikile.

As the crowned Queen, she will present the African continent at the Mrs Universe pageant in Seoul, South Korea this November. She is honored to be entrusted with this task and is looking forward to representing Africa on a global stage.
