Tamatiso Entertainment has a passion for creating top quality events that are not only
inclusive for members of the LGBTQI+ community but safe spaces for their allies to interact
and grow networks in. Durbanite Pride Celebration was founded with the aim of
transforming the landscape of the Southern African entertainment industry in terms of
inclusivity and acceptance, the formation of Tamatiso entertainment is a direct response to
social ills and their effects on marginalised communities.
Its believed once a year they take the advantage to utilise the Pride month season by hosting a Pride
Celebration in response to hate crime, promoting human rights as well forming LGBTIQ
visibility to the country. Accordding to founder Ndiso Tamatiso ”Durbanite Pride Celebration has been prioritising to uplift LGBTIQ entertainers across the country as well as promoting the entertainers in the
community” He said.
Furthermore, Tamatiso Entertainment collaborates with mainstream entertainment venues
as a way of teaching venue owners and CIS heteronormative society that frequently socialise
in those spaces a lesson about tolerance in an environment that had been previously
inaccessible to queer identifying persons. Durbanite Pride Celebration represents a greater
tolerance towards the community. This celebration’s line up comprises of queer entertainers.
