Born an bred in Durban kwazulu natal ,Darrien Luke sings a different tune.
“My gospel music is very different to the norm. I write from a more personal perspective and I believe I have a very unique voice. I’m Relatable. Said Luke.
His dream and purpose is to touch lives through gospel music.
“I know my purpose given to me by God. I am a praise and worship leader and have released my first album and currently working on new music and I have been on many radio stations and have been nominated for several awards. All by the Grace of God. I also have a dream of being an actor and have appeared in a few local productions ” he added.
When asked about his greatest influence he proudly said.
“That would be my parents and grand parents.
I’ve never seen more hardworking people in my life.” He sighed.
His single entitled “merciful” has been making few rounds at BCR’s Top 10 , sitting at no 3 on gospel according to Pastor Moss Magwatane, a programs which airs every Sundays at 11am . His achievements saw himself continuing in the purposes of God. Possibly being a full time actor and singer.
“I have been through so many obstacles and disappointments. Everytime I feel like giving up I remind myself as to why I started doing this in the first place. ”
When asked if he is happy he said ” I am happy at this present moment. I believe no one is perfect except God himself and we can constantly work on ourselves as individuals to become better each day. His reaction when he findout about his nomination he said ” I was so excited to be recognized for my gifts and talents. I’m so grateful and excited for what the future holds. He concluded.
