💫 BCRMag Feature: One Man’s Vision to Uplift Children — The Story of Icebo Lenguquko Movement

“Growing up wasn’t easy, but giving back makes it all worth it.” — Nqobile Dlamini 💭 Founder of Icebo Lenguquko Movement, a community initiative transforming children’s lives one meal at a time. #BCRMag #Inspiration #CommunityLeader #NqobileDlamini

When Nqobile Dlamini founded the Icebo Lenguquko Movement on 16 July 2023, he had one clear mission — to make sure no child ever goes through what he once did.

“Growing up was never easy, and I didn’t want any child going through what we went through. That really pushed me to start this movement,” Nqobile shared.

What began as a small act of compassion has grown into a community-driven effort that uplifts children and families through food drives, mentorship, and empowerment programmes. The journey, however, hasn’t been easy.

“It’s been a great journey with highs and lows, but we soldier on because of the impact it makes in the community, especially for children,” he said.

Running the organisation without partners or formal sponsors has tested his perseverance. From sourcing food on his own to coordinating volunteers, Nqobile has carried the vision with faith and determination.

“It hasn’t been easy since the organisation started — sourcing food and resources by yourself, with no partners or collaborations. But it gets better over time, now that people are starting to realise the importance of this movement and are able to assist in different ways,” he explained.

Even as he faces challenges in finding dedicated volunteers, Nqobile remains hopeful.

“One of the biggest challenges I face is that I’m not always around, and it’s not easy finding people who serve selflessly — people with good communication skills who know how to deal with children from different backgrounds,” he said.

With sincerity and gratitude, he extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who continues to support the cause:

“To all the donors, supporters and the community at large — thank you, thank you. Please don’t lose heart; you’re doing the right thing.” 🙏🏾

Through his leadership, Icebo Lenguquko Movement stands as a beacon of transformation — a reminder that change begins when one person decides to care.

  1. Absolutely, Sasa! 🙌🏾 You’re right — change begins when one person cares, and it truly takes a village to raise a child. That’s exactly the spirit behind Icebo Lenguquko Movement. Thank you for sharing your support! 💛
