Delta The Leo is back with a powerful new single, “Healing”, featuring Ricky Rick and voices from fans — a track that blends music, fashion, and mental health awareness into a moving experience. We caught up with the rising star to hear more about the inspiration behind the song, her collaborative journey, and what fans can look forward to next.
The Inspiration Behind “Healing”
Delta shares that the track came from an unexpected encounter: “What inspired the song is the need for mental health awareness. It was unplanned — I was in Sandton City and was asked by them to share words that heal. Little did I know my voice would be featured in the song.”
The spontaneous nature of the project speaks to Delta’s ability to connect with her audience on a deeper level, turning a simple act into a song that resonates with listeners.
Collaborating with Ricky Rick and Beyond
The single is more than just a musical collaboration.“The collaboration brought different creatives together in a gathering in Sandton,” Delta explains. “Also, a pop store in Sandton is selling merchandise and providing an opportunity to pledge to the Ricky Rick Foundation. The collaboration is also about fashion, where Sumarai Farai, Litawater, and Sandton have made sure there are art pieces that can be bought in order to contribute to this cause, encouraging people to see a therapist if they feel they need help with their mental health.”
Delta emphasizes that “Healing” is a multi-layered project — combining music, visual art, fashion, and activism — all while creating space for conversations around mental health.
The Core Message
At its heart, Delta says, “I hope listeners can know they are not alone and there are people willing to help and support them through any life difficulty they could be going through. The core theme is kindness and for people to remember words can break and heal. It’s important not to be mean to others.”
The track’s inclusion of fan voices only amplifies this message, making listeners feel part of the healing journey themselves.
What’s Next for Delta The Leo?
Delta is keeping her fans excited for what’s ahead:“Yes, I’m currently working on my album, and I can’t share too much, but I am going on an Asian tour as well as a Europe tour in 2026. I released my summer merchandise, which will be sold at all the events I’m performing at. I’m also debuting my first festival on 25 October as a Lekompo DJ and Lekompo musician at the State Theatre.”
