World Gold Council Sponsors Groundbreaking Documentary at Mining Indaba 2026

The story of modern mining is being told like never before. Sponsored by the World Gold Council, a new documentary explores the evolution of gold mining, highlighting innovation, human spirit, and the highest safety standards in the industry.

Paul Gurney, CEO and Founder of BecomingX, said:
“What excites me most about this documentary is that it has real people at its heart. From seasoned miners to those who had never stepped foot in a mine, it shows nerves, determination, and a powerful sense of unity as they took on something truly extraordinary.”

The marathon at the heart of the documentary was co-organised by BecomingX, ICMM, and Boliden, hosted at Boliden’s Garpenberg mine in Sweden. The World Gold Council, along with Hindustan Zinc and Teck Resources Limited, supported the project, ensuring this story reaches audiences worldwide.

Mining Indaba attendees can catch the world premiere:
📅 Tuesday, 10 February 2026
🕑 2:15 PM (Doors open 2:00 PM)
