**Lioness on a Mission: How Faith and Purpose Shape Basetsana Koboyankwe’s Path**
*Written & Edited by Eshdey Diphae*
** A story of faith, leadership, and divine purpose from one of Africa’s most inspiring women of vision.

Radiant, resilient, and deeply rooted in faith, Basetsana “Lioness” Koboyankwe is a name that continues to inspire. A dynamic radio host, model, MC, creative entrepreneur, event coordinator, and youth mentor, she embodies what it means to walk boldly in purpose while serving others with compassion. Her journey is one of faith meeting vision — and business becoming a vessel of divine impact.
“I remember as far back as high school having a deep desire to one day own my own eating establishment,” she recalls with a smile. “I used to sell shortbread biscuits at school, which I baked myself every day after school.”
Those humble beginnings, rooted in both faith and family, planted the seeds of entrepreneurship long before she fully understood the calling. “Growing up in a Christian and business-minded family, I now realize that a seed of purpose and entrepreneurship was being planted even then.”
For Basetsana, business is more than profit — it’s ministry. “My journey of faith has taught me about purpose, serving others, and pursuing excellence. These lessons continue to shape how I lead — from the heart, with integrity, and with the intention to make a lasting impact. I’ve always said to God, ‘Every door You open, I will take You with me.’”
Whether she’s hosting on radio, coordinating events, mentoring youth, or representing South Africa on creative platforms, Basetsana sees her work as an extension of God’s creativity and compassion. “True success isn’t measured only by profit, but by impact and integrity. Every project I take on is an opportunity to glorify God through service and transformation.”
Now nominated for the Christian Women Entrepreneurs Network in Africa (CWENA) under the Socioentrepreneur Category, Basetsana sees this recognition as both an honor and a responsibility. “What sets me apart is my heart for people,” she says. “Leadership is not a title — it’s a calling to serve others. My focus has always been to build a hopeful future that reflects the change we want to see.”
Through her upcoming Leadership and Personality Academy and a Consultancy within the Arts, she plans to empower more young people to lead with excellence and authenticity. “I also aim to collaborate with more women — especially across Africa — to drive development, inspire purpose, and create lasting impact,” she adds.
When asked how she balances her professional pursuits with faith and personal values, her response is both profound and practical: “Balance comes from alignment. I’ve learned to ensure that what I do and who I am serve the same purpose. My faith keeps me grounded, reminding me that my identity in Christ is not defined by titles or achievements, but by purpose and obedience.”
Her advice to other women entrepreneurs is filled with the wisdom of experience:
“Stay authentic by finding and holding onto your God-given purpose. Don’t compromise your values for visibility — let God lead every single decision, and listen for His voice through every step. When your business aligns with your divine purpose, everything flows with grace and peace, not pressure.”
As our conversation draws to a close, Basetsana leaves a message that feels like a rallying call for every Christian woman entrepreneur across the continent:
“You are called, not just chosen. Challenges are part of your preparation — they refine your faith and shape your influence. Don’t walk this journey alone; collaboration is one of the strongest expressions of sisterhood. When we share our resources, networks, and prayers, we multiply our impact. Let’s be women who celebrate each other’s wins and lift one another higher — because when one woman shines, her light spreads across the continent.”
With her heart anchored in faith and her eyes fixed on purpose, Basetsana “Lioness” Koboyankwe continues to roar with grace — proving that when purpose meets passion, Africa rises.
