When life hands her lemon , she makes a lemonade. She struck me as a women of substance!Thats the kind of attitude she has.

Meet a Radio Presenter, a Public Relations Practitioner, a Model , philanthropic lady with a voice and brains for radio.
Chantelle Mavimbela is a B.E.A award winner for best radio presenter . She is born and raised in Alexandra township known as (Gomora Maboneng). She is a passionate , hardworking and ambitious soul sister.
“I am a twin sister to Margo Mavimbela and a daughter to Lolo Andronica Mavimbela”

“I have my own disability campaign. I am a young lady with an outgoing personality, love helping people out and always strive for the best. She said.

Amongs all the girls in the room she is bubbly  and her aura is awesome!
“What makes me different from other people is that I am myself. I dont live a double life or pretend to be somebody I’m not.  When people hear me on radio they say “yep that is chantelle even in reality” she sighed.

You know a saying “your future is in your hands? What you do now entails what you will become tomoro.

“When it comes to dreams honestly speaking it’s a long story as I had too many dreams as a kid. But to cut the story short I wanted to be a doctor or nurse but my matric results came otherwise and therefore decided to study for public relations at rosebank college. PR is something I never imagined myself studying because it had a subject that I feared in high school which is  business studies but all that changed when I started learning about PR. I fell in love with it  and the organization I worked for specialized in sport arts and culture. So they were on the media side which was so fascinating and told myself that since I’m a person that has an outgoing personality let me try out radio presenting.

My first try out was a success at Koppolla hip pop radio station and since then I never looked back. I then went to kapitol afrika radio worked with them and I basically created a star out of myself with the help of Public Relations.
Situations shifted my dreams, I know I could have upgraded my results for me to become a doctor but right now I dont regret myself for not doing that. I will always be a PR Practitioner and a Radio Presenter. There’s still more to come. ” she said.

Her greatest influence would her Mother.
“My mom is a superhero. She handles situations like a superhero. She has never ever failed me and my twin brother nor has she made us feel useless. She’s one person that always has plans and wa phanda sterk. She’s a business minded woman and the best mother in the world. She always supports our dreams no matter how bad they are.  She’s always there for us and we love her. ” she expressed.

Beyond covid 19 she said “I have so many places I see myself at but most importantly i want to see myself registering my disability campaign project that i put on hold into an NGO. That would be the greatest achievement for me” she added.

In her good books , life hasn’t had any challenges except careerwise.
“Well getting a job in south africa is very hard and that is why I exercise PR on myself and my shows as I am a brand”

One item she can’t live without.
“my phone. My work is on my phone. I do everything on my phone basically My phone is my life.”
She confirms that she is content with herself and wouldnt want to change anything.

Her reaction about BEA’s nomination and the outcomes she said ” My goodness. I was shocked. I couldn’t believe it. I thought I was dreaming and when the voting lines opened There was no day where I didn’t get a notification from people who voted for me and said “I voted for you and you are coming back home with that trophy”.

After all I did come back with that trophy. I still can’t believe that I was awarded the award for “best radio presenter “2020. Khosi from Kapitol Afrika radio saw my work and felt that I need to be recognized for my work and she nominated me. I’ll forever be greatful to her and to all the people that have supported me thus far. Thanks to my co-host Andile Simelane for doing the show with me, I am truly blessed and many more trophies will be coming to mama❤ she concluded.
